    [post_content] =>  Namaste!

This morning we started our final morning sangha with an exercise in being present, an opportunity to literally stop and smell the roses, taking in the sights, smells and textures of Nepal and of this incredible journey. The group, along with Briana,  are now headed home and are excited to share their stories with all of you!

This is an incredible group of seekers, connected in our curiosity  about the world around us and in our gratitude for opportunity to experience it .

I am one of the searchers. There are, I believe, millions of us. We are not unhappy, but neither are we really content. We continue to explore life, hoping to uncover its ultimate secret. We continue to explore ourselves, hoping to understand. We like to walk along the beach, we are drawn by the ocean, taken by its power, its unceasing motion, its mystery and unspeakable beauty. We like forests and mountains, deserts and hidden rivers, and the lonely cities as well. Our sadness is as much a part of our lives as is our laughter. To share our sadness with one we love is perhaps as great a joy as we can know — unless it be to share our laughter.

We searchers are ambitious only for life itself, for everything beautiful it can provide. Most of all we love and want to be loved. We want to live in a relationship that will not impede our wandering, nor prevent our search, nor lock us in prison walls; that will take us for what little we have to give. We do not want to prove ourselves to another or compete for love.

For wanderers, dreamers, and lovers, for lonely men and women who dare to ask of life everything good and beautiful.

Go up and knock on that old weathered door. Climb up to the cave. Crawl through the window of a dream. Sift the desert and see what you find. It is the only work we have to do.

We are writing this post from Pharping, where Team Nepal is spending it's last full day in the country with activities of reflection and gratitude. Pharping, actually, is a great location to end our journey - the  Buddhist shrines and the Hindu temples in this small town reminds us of our exploration into understanding these religions; it is surrounded by lofty hills that bring back our memories of trek and living in Ale Gaon; and the small bustling market offers a tiny glimpse of urban intensity in Patan and excitement of Waling. In this capstone experience in Pharping, we are looking back at our itinerary and reminiscing this journey that has meant so much in such a little time. Just a day ago in Patan, we organized a gratitude party to our homestay families and mentors of our independent study projects. All the students took turn - some speaking the Nepali language - in thanking their families and gurus for providing a look at the depth of their lives and professions. The student group, along with our program crew, prepared breakfast and offered tea to all the guests. Opposite to the routine of the last week, the students now played hosts. Over an hour of performances, some students demonstrated their new skills in sarangi, tabla, sitar, and tantric dance. It was laughs all around and a deep sense of gratefulness settled in the room as we finished our party. Tomorrow , Team Nepal will board a plane to return back home. Tonight, we will celebrate our friendship and revel in our joy of being together! [post_content] => I cannot believe this is my last Yak and a month has already passed in this truly incredible and inspiring country of Nepal. It's overwhelming to think about how far we have come and learned in this past month and to how much we have truly grown from within. After an experience that is truly indescribable, i think the only thing i can do is redefine the words i once thought i knew.

Friendship

the power between 14 other strangers that quickly becomes one's inner strength. The support, laughs, smiles,tears, understanding, and dedication in one another that comes from each and every new experience. The amazing new friends that relationships will be cherished forever.

Origin: night jam sessions, cleaning each others' dishes, talking over candlelight, laughing at our imperfections, supporting each other and checking in with one another every step of the way

Love

the universal power to just be. To be open and full with life. The relationship of a family to a new foreign stranger, an instructor to a new student, or simply a new friend to a friend. It the power of a feeling so deep that one has never truly experienced before but the depth of the heart learning the power of empathy and compassion

Origin: homestays , relationships to instructors, new towns, new scenery, new music, new art, and new laughs. Simply the country and people of Nepal

Alive

the one word to describe the indescribable. the openness now within the heart ready to take on an old distant home but the excitement to bring feeling and knowledge to all. To live without fear, to love without regret, and to speak truly from within.

Origin: the special power of Where There Be Dragons

lots of love back home and thanks for all the support from WTBD staff.
